Philadelphia Public Access Corporation Announces Search for Executive Director

The Philadelphia Public Access Corporation (PPAC), a new nonprofit corporation that will manage a Public Access cable TV network and resources, invites applications for the position of Executive Director. PPAC was established to give residents of Philadelphia access to the tools, technology and training to create and distribute their own non-commercial programming over the Comcast cable system in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia City Council Unanimously Passes Public Access Bills

October 25, 2007

This morning Bill Nos. 70793 and 70794 were unanimously passed by Philadelphia's City Council. The first bill approved the public access amendments to the City's Franchise Agreement with Comcast and the second approved the leasing of the City-owned property at 2531 Lehigh Ave to the future Public Access Corporation. This will be the future home of the public access studio and facilities.

As you know, victory in the campaign for public access is on the way! We have one final step - City Council must approve two bills, one to amend the franchise agreement and another to approve the lease to the future home of the public access center.
